Hi Friend,

The expression of gratitude is such an understated blessing. It is also one of the greatest of gifts. Cicero once said "Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues. It is the parent of all others." Albert Switzer said, "At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us."

With that as an introduction allow me to pass on more expressions of gratitude for the Family Winter Tournament to those who made it possible. And let us be thankful we have been used to "light the flame in others"

Here are post cards received from all over.

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Lexington and Cincinnati,
Thank you so very much for once again organizing and running the Family Winter Weekend. Your hard work, care for the church, and selflessness are truly wonderful and an example for us all. May God our Father be with you and bless you all, in all that you do.
With much love, through Christ Jesus our Lord,
Your Brothers and Sisters in Ontario, Canada

We had a wonderful time;
Thank you for all your effort & time

The time spent together was enjoyed as always! Thank you for everything you do. We are truly blessed to have you as our brothers and sisters!

We really enjoyed all of the fellowship! Looking forward to future years!

We enjoyed and learned from the seminars. It was great to see such a large group for Sabbath Service. Thanks for all your hard work.

Thank you very much. We truly enjoyed ourselves.

Thank you so much for a wonderful weekend. We enjoyed spending time with our brothers and sisters in Christ.

Dear Jim & the COG Cincinnati brethren,
Thank you so much for hosting such an uplifting family weekend. We really enjoyed the seminars & the fellowship. It was very encouraging for both of us. Just what we needed.

Below are some messages received via email:

Hello Jim,
I had intended to send you a message earlier but time has slipped away. We really enjoyed the Winter Family Weekend and want to thank you, your wife and all the brethren that worked so arduously to make it a success. As much as we enjoyed the seminars, sermon and sporting activities I really enjoyed sitting down, conversing and spending time to getting better acquainted with my brothers and sisters from what ever fellowship.

I am convinced and have been for a long time that unity must transcend the artificial borders that some have erected. Just wanted you to know that you are truly appreciated. God bless your efforts.

I should have written sooner to thank you and your congregation for hosting such a wonderful gathering of God's people.
It was truly "just what I needed" and a time-out from the trials of this world.
My heartfelt appreciation!
Love and Blessings to all!

Here is a message published on one of the forums:

"If anyone wants to see how the Holy Spirit works in a Christian's life, they need to attend the CEM feast site, or the COG Cincinnati Winter Weekend in Lexington Ky. over Christmas weekend. I'm not pushing CEM, Ron Dart, or Jim O'brien but if you want to see how Christians conduct themselves when they truly rely on the Holy Spirit and God as their sole leader, then give it a try."

Until next time,

Jim O'Brien
